ROAD KILL STEW
Spank Daddy

A collection of original and cover tunes, mostly recorded at Ray Gun Studio. More recording and mixing/mastering to be done at Spank Studios (once I get my Pro Tools rig up and running). Look for it to be finished by the end of 2005 (hopefully). Covers of BB King’s “The Thrill Is Gone”, U2’s “In God’s Country”, Billy Preston’s “Nothing From Nothing” and a condensed instrumental version of “2112” from Rush to be included.

FULL BLAST
The Main Man Compilation, Volume 2, Main Man Records

I was fortunate enough to be asked to contribute an original instrumental, which I entitled “Rush To Black”. This was a compilation record of some of the best original music the Jersey Shore area and beyond had to offer on Main Man Records. “Full Blast” featured The Runaway’s Cherrie Curie & The Street Walking Cheetahs doing a remake of the classic Runaway’s hit “Cherry Bomb”, along with Frankenstein 3000’s “Black Trip”, Mars Needs Women cover of The Vapor’s “Turning Japanese” and Digger Phelps’ “Counter Girl”. “Rush To Black” was inspired by two of my favorite guitarists and influences, Alex Lifeson and Tony Iommi. The record was reviewed by Chris Barry of The Aquarian, and of “Rush To Black” he said “Heaviest cut tag goes to the ominous stone age wall of lurking, looming guitars on the one-man-does-it-all Spank Daddy’s ‘Rush To Black’, which I’d crank up for full effect” – Chris Barry - The Aquarian 5/15/02. Many thanks to Shawn Mars and his expertise with Pro Tools in helping me record this song.

KISS THIS
A Tribute To KISS, Main Man Records

Kiss This, a Main Man Records tribute to KISS, featured some of the hottest bands in the country, including The Donna’s (who did a smokin’ version of “Speeding Back To My Baby”), Frankenstein 3000, Mars Needs Women, Digger Phelps and Tick Non Stop. Since I was a big KISS fan when I was a young punk (long before it was cool to be a KISS fan), I was asked to contribute to the CD, and recorded a cover of “I Stole Your Love”. With the help of Rik Vasquez from “Big Spank” fame doing lead vocals and drums, and with Shawn Mars helping out on backing vocals, we did a kick ass cover of this song. A nice review followed from Chris Barry from The Aquarian Weekly -“‘Kiss This’ features scores of local bands rocking their bones off the KISS classics… and don’t miss the strutting, racing KISS-to-the-end wail-up of Spank Daddy’s ‘I Stole Your Love’… this CD belongs in the hands of KISS fans everywhere” - Chris Barry, The Aquarian, 4/2/2003.

An 8 song live demo recorded somewhere in Red Bank N.J. on April 1, 2000. This CD featured 7 original Big Spank tunes such as “Just An Idea”, “Oblique”, “Driven” and the classic “Jimmy Is A Phone Fairy”, and also including a version of BB King’s “The Thrill Is Gone”. I was featured as the lead vocalist on this tune, and that’s why this song will never, ever be heard by anyone ever again!! From this demo, the band picked “Oblique” and re-recorded it. Look for “Oblique” to be released on an upcoming original compilation release from Main Man Records entitled “Happy Meal”.
